Old Time Radio is sometimes called the Theatre of the Mind.

A dark room, the only lighting coming from the glowing dial and a mysterious looking green 'Magic-Eye' 6E5 vacuum tube which indicated the strongest signal. The announcer comes on. "The Johnson's Wax Program with Fibber McGee and Molly". Jack Benny. The Great Gildersleeve. The Lone Ranger. Gunsmoke. The Shadow.
